Hey everyone! I’m Alejandra Garza and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor
Asking for help takes a lot of courage, and my hope is to help individuals wanting to overcome challenges in their lives and their relationships. I have experience working with issues such as trauma, eating disorders, relationship difficulties, parenting, domestic violence, sexual violence, PTSD, anxiety, and depression.
I am a bilingual and bicultural counselor meaning I feel comfortable working with clients who are Spanish speaking, or use both Spanish and English in session. With providing my services, I also feel comfortable with cultural specific topics such as immigration stress, adjusting to culture/society, and racial/ethnic concerns.
In my services, I use various techniques and modalities such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) for traumatic experiences and triggers, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), feminist theory for increasing assertiveness and self-empowerment, Gottman Method for couple related issues, and other approaches depending on the client’s specific needs.
I hope to create an environment of trust and understanding in session and go alongside clients in their therapeutic journey.

Me outside the therapy room
When I am not working, I like to spend time with my friends and family as well as traveling. I also enjoy spending time alone in which I do various activities such as: watching movies, crocheting, running, swimming, and watercolor painting.
