An LPC Associate is an individual that has completed a Master’s Degree in Counseling or a related field and holds a provisional counseling license. This means that LPC-Associates have met all the educational and competency requirements to be a License Professional Counselor in the state of Texas, but the state requires them to accumulate more hours of counseling experience and training before being considered fully licensed. LPC Associate are in the process of completing 3,000 professional counseling hours. It typically takes a LPC Associates two to five years to complete 3,000 hours. As LPC Associates, they are supervised by a state-approved LPC Supervisor.
