We recommend that if you are wanting to work on different treatment goals (i.e. individually work on improving self-esteem or managing depression and in your relationship improve communication or intimacy) then you have two different therapists. This will help your couple’s therapist have a non-biased approach when working with you and your partner. You can sign a release of information form for both of your therapists to have communication in regards to your couples therapy and individual therapy. In addition, you can have both online therapists be through Modern Wellness Counseling, as some of our clinicians solely specialize in doing individual therapy while others focus on working with couples. This way, you know you are getting appropriate care.
